Hi

I recently purchased a Silverback Storm 1.0 with the Rock Shox SID RL 29" fork installed. I am very tempted to try out a rigid fork given the bigger wheels and the weight saving. The rides are mainly technical stuff, often with mud, short but steep climbs - I am located in Denmark in Europe. Once a month a local race - typically race time is 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 min.

Can anyone recommend a rigid fork, low weight yet durable? I am uncertain to what price range I should be looking in - ideally I'd see if I could match the quality level of the RockShox - if that makes sense? And if you have any pointers to what to look for in a fork that would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Robert

Thanks for the quick replies. Does the size of the fork matter? Axle to crown can be either 450 mm or 470 mm as as I can tell. I guess it is just the ride height that is reduced with the 450mm or will it also mean I am limited in terms of which tires I can use?

450mm is for 26" and 470mm is for 29er. You'll need the 470.

X-lite also make a great carbon fork for <200 euro on CRC. Check it out. I bought one last week - will test ride this weekend...
