Oooo ... this can get very interesting.

If you do a google search you will many alternatives that can be used and at a fraction of the cost of the "real deal".

I will be keeping an eye on this thread as I did the research when I serviced my Fox fork, but will also be having to do the same for my Revelation soon.

If you know the weight you need you can get it from Suzuki South or if you are in the North maybe Droomers Yamaha. It should cost about R80 for 500ml.

I agree, if the fork is not under warrant tee period, then go D.I.Y if you have the aptitude.

Yes and yes.....

Thanks for the links, but none of those sites are local.

I wonder if they will ship to SA?

what weight is it that you need?

The weight refers essentially to the thickness of the oil. the higher the weight the thicker the oil.

Just get some Bel-Ray fork oil. It's R100 for 1L (go for the 7.5wt as it's a good inbetweener weight). The LBS is probably going to rush you like R40 for the small volumes you require anyway.

Edit to add: that you can pick it up at any store that stocks motor bike spares.

Also, it doesn't have to be Bel-Ray, but I have just found the Bel-Ray stuff to be excellent and well priced.

Edited again to remove a brain fart typo

I used Bel-Ray before ... it worked a treat.
