question...do you think it is possible for someone to suddenly ride a 94.7 sub 3 if their results were as per below for previous years?

2010: 3:39

2011: 3:29

2012: 2:41

possible, i have been riding for under 2 years, last years 94.7 was my first race and my first time over 75km and i did it in 3:27, this year i did it in 3:00:58 with a stop because of my chain, i was heading for a 2:55 maybe?

i did not do specific training, i did have 4 weeks coaching with Diane White at Activeworx but did not use it too its full potential!

all i did was do as many races as possible this year with IDT sessions when i could, oh and i bought my "BEAST" love the new bike + ZIPP's

I do believe with proper training incl intervals and proper coaching those results are possible!!

Chap in our office started cycling 6 months ago !!! He said to me he's gonna do a sub 3 94.7 , we laugh and made jokes about it . He did 4 MTB races and this was his first road race starting from NN . He did a 2:58 on his own , no groups and sucking !!

Easily, it really is not that much of an improvement if this was the first year he/she/it focussed on training as opposed to sommer just riding a bike.

I took 40 mins off my K2C time purely by adding two early morning rides to my schedule during winter.
