DT Swiss Aerolite spokes: Are they made of gold?

OK, wait, on further research, 32 hole carbon rims on an mtb, aerolite spokes are pretty much a daft choice anyway. They aren't designed for such a purpose.

DT Swiss use these on the EXC 1550 carbon AM/enduro wheelset. As long as the rider isn't heavy, lightweight spokes shouldn't be a problem? Or is there another reason you say this?

D,

suggestion, get in contact with Johan Bornman from YellowSaddle.

Thanks George, will do! thumbup1.gif However, I suspect that if these spokes retail for $75/20 in the US 128 of them will still be 5-6k here at best. There just is no way in hell I'll pay that much for spokes. They are hardly any lighter than Revos. Why on earth DT Swiss priced them so high just for being bladed and available in more colours I cannot fathom.

If there is anyone on The Hub who owns these I'd love to know why you bought them.

Nope. R 70 per spoke and R 35 per nipple. 4 wheels of 32 spokes each. 128 spokes in total x R 105 = R 13,440

Yeah, she should rather sell the rims and buy two sets of wheels for a lot less than that.

Cause as she says. rape by DT swiss is still rape.

And still - at USD 99 per 20, that's $ 700 for the lot. Half price, effectively.

Alternatively - look HERE

Not red, but you can get white / silver / black - and they're good spokes at half the cost of the DT swisses.

Thanks, I'll check it out smile.png
