MTB cleaning and disassembly 101

Hi guys, looking for the 101 on taking apart my bike and cleaning, lubeing and re-asembly. What tips and methods do you have?

Correct tools and lots of pictures. Also have internet handy as sometimes some guides help with specific reassembly or dissasembly foot falls. Also take it one piece at a time otherwise too many little pieces become a problem. Enjoy the beer and be ready for all day cleaning the bike.

Really not a difficult thing to do.

 

Just make sure when you put it all together again that your grease, lube and loctite parts that require it.

 

Also make sure to tighten bolts to the correct tension.

 

Parktool.com has instructions on everything you need.

 

One part to really pay attention with is removing and replacing the non drive side crank arm

The Pinkbike Tech Tuesday videos helped me quite a bit when I did my first strip and clean. I actually enjoy taking it apart and cleaning everything now thumbup1.gif
