GoPro3 video editing on Windows

I'v just got a GoPro 3 Black edition.

I'v downloaded a H.264 codec to make Windows media player play the Mpeg4 files.. Perfect..

BUT I cant get the Windows Live movie makers to open the files... and i cant find a codec online?

I'm too scared to download another codec incase it spoils the media player one?

Has anyone got a link to something that will allow me to edit Gopro videos in Window live movie maker, or is there a better editing software??

Download K-lite codec pack. It's everything you need for videos. Then windows movie maker should work, mine does, If you have the bandwidth. Download pinnacle studio. It's professional video editing software. It's like 4.5 GB though.

I downloaded the K lite codec pack.... Windows media player is working, but Windows live movie maker wont open the files?

You did restart after you installed the codecs hey? And your PC does have enough power. Those files are huge.

Pc got plenty power. I did restart, but it only fixed media player, not movie maker?

Movie maker is a windows native app and will support only the codecs that microsoft has licensed.

 

Look at either Videopad or VirtualDub.

When you really get into it grab a copy of Adobe Premier Elements for about R800

I had the same problem, so I downloaded a software conversion program, I convert the mpeg4 to AVI, works awesome! It is called AVC Ultimate Software
