Does anyone know if Modderfontein is open this weekend?

They should be. We rode there last Sunday and they told us that they will be open

I was always under the impression that they were open on weekends only, not weekdays.

 

Either this or Van Gaalens, which is open. Or the Spruit, which will be muddy in the extreme.

Is it just me or has anyone found that Modderfontein is horribly overgrown of late?

The guys seriously need to take a mower to some of that grass/weeds.

Karma, myself and Carpet rode today at modder... we should have got machetes so we could trim the track, it's terribly overgrown and wasn't much fun IMHO.

 

Maybe I'm a bit of a softie but riding in grass that's above your bar height isn't for me

I agree totally, I was there on th 17th, even then It was bad. We pay a bit more to ride there I would expect a bit more maintenance, still it is nice and close.

They've brought in a multi pass system, which allows you in during the week as no money changes hands at the gate then.

 

Was there yesterday, other than one piece of single track the thickness of the growth wasn't really an issue. Even then, it's on a minor sections.
