Garmin restarting during rides

Today on my long base ride, my garmin decided to restart only recording the last section.....

 

What is the cause of this? Is there a way I can get the data back?

What Garmin is it. 305 had known problems with the batteries, which I incurred. If it is a 305 then you can trade up to a newer model at Garmin.

Google it, it could be. Firmware upgrade issue as well. Since I went to an 800 all my issues with turning of vanished.

yea...it is the Edge 500, first time I ever experienced this...sucks tho! Was planning to finish the 500 challenge with a shirt 40km tomor, oh well....I added it manually, no time zones though.

For some reason my Garmin isn't being recognized on my computer any more, anyone know what i could do ?

I reinstalled the Garmin connector Plug-In
