Stripped headset bolt

Any one know how to remove a headset bolt that has not grip to losen it . The hole where I place the allen key in stripped and is round now so there is now way to remove with an allen key

Drill it out.

 

Other option is to take a drillbit slightly bigger than the hole and hammer it in.

 

Take a cordless drill with torque control and reverse mode to unscrew it.

thanks would I have to replace the headset afterwards can I posisbly damage something in the process ?

Haha, I learnt how to do this the other day! You can either drill it out, as mentioned. Or what we did was to hammer in a Torcx head bit, then when that bites, you can turn it out.

Or builders warehouse / megamica will have them (easyouts), them come in a set. You have to be careful when drilling into the bolt to use the right size, so as to not damage the thread on the outside of the bolt.
