I'm looking for a bit of help from the enduro experts! I'm looking at building up an enduro type bike, I have a pair of mavic cross trails(2010) that are not really being used. Just wondering if u think these will be to weak for what I'm looking for (rock gardens, jumps etc) I'm a resionably light but do ride quite aggressively, do you think these will hold up? And also if anyone one knows if they can be converted to 15mm up front ans 142x12mm at the back? They are currently 9mm. Thanks!

Could be the same info you have already seen.. most of it from the Mavic site. Pinkbike has instructions provided by RC to convert the crossmax. If the CT is compatible I would assume the process is very much the same. http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Tech-Tuesday-Converting-Mavic-Crossmax-SX-Axles-2011.html

Find a 2nd hand Ibis Mojo HD. checks all the boxes, except the seat post diameter. And if you got a 30,9 dropper, you can just shim it to fit 31.6. A lot of the boutique frames use a 31,6 seat tube.

In fact for 20k you can get just about any top of the range frame 2nd hand.

Why you not allowed a Jabula?

That changes things a bit.

Pity about the Jabula, probably your best bet under 20k. Perhaps one of the commencal frames?

Never shimmed a dropper before so I dont know, I think if you grease the post properly it should be ok..

What about a Yeti SB66?

Alu frames are under 20k

Rear travel is 152mm...

HA is

Seatpost diameter

26" wheels

Local support seems to be good from MSC.

Alu SB66's are going for 30K as per MSC & Greg (CPT Yeti).

Not keen on Yeti at the moment. My ASR5 is a maintenance pain in the arse & I don't see the SB66 any better.

Also local support is not all that great POST sale.

For that money you can have yourself a brand new, full carbon Ibis.

Oh ok, the I should have bought it once then when MSC quoted me R19000 for the SB66 alu frame a month ago incl rear kashima shock.

I haven't had any poor after sales service from Greg with my ASR5c sofar. Luckly I haven't had any major maintenance problems yet.

I'm sure you'll find a sweet frame!!

No issues with Greg at all.

I have issues waiting 6 months for a derailleur hanger. Or an "Approved Shop" replacing bearings with substandard ones & dinging the frame in the process.

Yeah that would piss me off too!

I know its 140mm rear travel but I know of a mal deal on a carbon Sworks stumpjumper and carbon expert stumpjumper if you'd concider going 140mm. In your budget and ticks all the boxes except 160mm.
