Just watching the riders getting ready to start. Obviously the four jerseys start at the front, but is there any protocol for where the other riders line up or is it just on how they arrive in the start chute?

Besides the 4 jerseys I don't think there is a protocol unless there is a birthday or it is the hometown of one of the riders.

I'm sure Cadel is thinking.........please make this stop!!

How old is Quintana again? He looks mid-30s.

Seems like Saxo and others are racing according to Edgar method, go till you blow (and then lose time) - a team with Contador, Rodgers, Kreuzinger, Roche, Paulino etc but with very poor execution.

If you read his story, jcza, he spent years in his youth as a labourer.

I know that labourers' work can earn a man many wrinkles.

He's got quite an inspirational life story.

So, if he should podium in his debut le Tour - WOWWWWWWW!!!!!

Ja, it looked pretty random from the chopper shot, but thought I would ask anyway*.

*Anything to avoid work… :whistling:

Didn't know that....shot Dale, and yes, love a rags to riches story.

PS oom doesn't do creams and moisturizers, heck he doesn't even use chamois cream.

So "Richie Froome" and team mate Richie Porte were both given a 20sec penalty and hefty fine for the feeding stunt they pulled yesterday.

Normally you are allowed to feed from the cars up to 25km to go but yesterday 6km to go was the cut off.

Froome needed some vroome and wisely sent Porte to the car to fetch some food for him. (4.something km's to go)

I feel that it was a bit unfair to penalize Froome as he was not the one taking the food from the car, he took it from Porte.

He did not gain an advantage at this point through his actions either ... although he might have lost some time if he didnt take in food.

Are the UCI now going to start telling you when and when not you can eat?

I'm all for the dont feed from cars within the last 20km's ... but if a man wants to eat, let him eat!
