Rolland, of course, would like to win the mountain ranking and gain as many points towards the KOM jersey as possible.

Yesterday was "the first day since the start in which I feel really good," said Moreno Moser of Cannondale.

SVein Tuft of Orica-GreenEdge has crashed, too. Most of the damage seems to have been to his jersey, though.

TdF Blast From The Past

LeMond, early adopter of the TT helmet, aerostyle

Is it my imagination or is he running a smaller diameter wheel on the front of the bike to improve his aero position?

Maybe it is the original 650b....

Just illusory.

The frame geometry is fooling your brain.

The chase for green is still on.

The pursuit for individual stage wins...

Nice subplots developing in today's stage.

Watching yesterday I can not believe that there are not more incidents with the crowds. Scary stuff.

Wondered what Jag would think about publicity from their car "breaking down".. Some damage control today:

Martin Ayres@Teamsky_jaguar3h

• Jaguar – NB: The cars are fantastic, reliable and we have a mechanic embedded with us on Tour. Yesterday our cool box overflowed onto the floor of the Race Car and that affected the electrics underneath.

Martin Ayres it was out of action for a while but we swapped cars, solved the issue and were back on the road by the end of the stage

From the tdf live tracking site:

'Sep Vanmarcke (BEL) is at front of the peloton that crested the col du Glandon 7'50" behind the two stage leaders. The Belkin rider had bike problems yesterday and was forced to do the second ascent of Alpe d'Huez in the 53 chainring... he posted the 42nd best time for the climb, a little over nine minutes slower than Quintana who was fastest.

Fark me...

Riding campy?

Wonder if Contador will wait if Froome gets bumped over by spectators or will he launch another cowardly attack?

Genius waaaaaay ahead of his time it seems - note the short tail helmet and bars tilted up in the mantis position!

The peloton now comes to the moutaintop. Everyone now faces a very long descent, followed by a flattisch section with the feed zone and the day's intermediate sprint.

That way everyone has a few minutes to catch their breath, before tackling the last half of the stage with three more climbs.

After crossing over, Rolland waits and thanks Hesjedal for letting him take the mountain points.

These two lead the race
