Is it just me or is Little Tommy the most irritating person ever seen on a bicycle?

Strange you mention him, how unusual but effective is Contador's climbing style out f the saddle. From an aerial shot you can pick him out immediately when he dances on the pedals.

For the power and watt geeks, from the letour website:

Clarke explains gains from training...

LeTour.fr did an interview with Simon Clarke a day after he was selected for his first start in the race. He spoke about his training program and talked about the developments he makes as the season progresses. Obviously the intensity ramps up as he gets closer to the main goals of the season. So, does he notice the improvements in your body? “Yeah, definitely," he said.

"You don’t necessarily start pushing a whole lot more watts, but if you can lose weight and be lighter and still push the same watts then you’re making quite big gains anyway.

“When I start off, I’m doing 370 watts but I’m at 67kg so four minutes only gets me 1.1km up the hill. Then, when I’m doing 370 watts and I’m 63kg, I’m riding 1.5km up the hill.”
