Its becoming a race of lesser known riders, Cav looks to be out of it and Goss hasn't had the form recently, Sagan maybe still a little sore and the opportunists are taking full advantage. Not that I mind, I like seeing them get a shot at glory as well..........even if it messes with my fantasy team.

"My mum doesn't want me to, but it's the Tour. It's not your average race. I'm definitely going to keep fighting. It felt a lot better today than yesterday, and it also felt a lot better at the end than it did at the start. But I've got a crack on my bone, so it's going to hurt, isn't it."

Geraint Thomas, after Stage 3

Always listen to your Mum.!

I am sure he has received medical advice, but, common sense surely tells me there is a possibility of long term issues by not resting the fracture and allowing it to heal, it may be great media to soldier through now, but 10 / 15 years down the line...................he may in hind sight, regret it.

I hope not, but I also hope he is seriously considering the risk.

Agree,I don't get it....he will do more damage and surely he has no real power left so what help will he be to Froome? If it is fractured I don't see how he will be able to get back to anything close to he's best during the tour so why do it.....riding with pain is one thing...not being able to produce power makes no sense ??

Indeed,.......and what if he falls again? Its a possibility that simply cant be ignored, and then the risks must become incredibly high of long term damage.

I have no doubt that after the TTT normality will resume with Cav dominating the next few days of sprints. As for Goss, he hasn't had form in over a year and should hand over the reigns to Daryl and Gerrans permanently.

I thought I heard on the commentary yesterday Cav was sick or doing antibiotics or something?? Not sure, I had the sound turned down and with the helicopter noise, my poor hearing and my standard tuning out of most of the two P's commentary I cant be certain.?

Yup, Cav's got Bronchitis and is on antibiotics. Seems to have killed off his green jersey hopes before they really got going. Hope that clears up before the mountains.

Imaging the Century - by Graeme Fife

The painter Maurice de Vlaminck, who, together with André Derain and Henri Matisse, originated the Fauvist school of painting, wrote of his early inspiration:

“My discovery of the world dates from the bicycle…it is to the bicycle that I owe my first astonished experience of outdoor life, my first excitements, my first sensations of space and freedom…My strongest emotions are rooted in those days riding along open roads, the view plunging down into the valley from the top of a hill, the roofs of houses way below seeming so close one could reach out and touch them and…the sea. It was this that inspired me to become a painter.”
