Ok, so here is the question? I have entered 70.3, and I am getting stronger and training without any issues. I was hoping to enter Full by January, if I stay injury free. Reason for this is that i did my 1st and only full with a running injury (2012).

Just saw the update that there are 800 entries left. Assummed that the entries will sell quicker for next year due to the fact that it is the 10th edition. What are the total entries available? I assume it is the same as half, 3000? If thats the case, then the nr of entries are already more than the total nr of entries for the past few years.

The question is....do I chance it to enter now and hope i dont experience any injuries.....or do i wait till Jan and hope there are entries left? Same time the other consideration is flights and accommodation. If so many people are going....will there be anything left by Jan?

Dont know which way to go

Interesting dilemma.

I normally enter after 70.3. IMSA has never sold out. Capacity is 2000 entries. Most entries ever is around 1800.

Not sure what the extra attraction of doing the 10th one is. The race is the same. Maybe some extra entertainment.

But it is a nice marketing trick to drum up entries and bring the cashflow forward by a few months, especially when you don't have a headline sponsor.

The flipside is that they might sell out sooner than expected but a lot of people won't pitch.

I am of the opinion that they may sell out during the new year (2,000 entries)... but then again they might just as well increase numbers or keep selling entries past the 2,000 mark because there is no exchange policy and as DaveM pointed out even if they sell 2,300 entries it is very unlikely that 2,000 okes will actually pitch due to 1,200 already entering...

Spoke to the guys at triangle and ask my friend to keep me updated on the entries as I was also only wanting to enter after 70.3 but looks like i might have to pull the trigger sooner.

I was told they take 2200 entries and was quite surprised they had sold so many consider they dont have the half price spec saver option

Take a big plunge next week - Entering the Noresman lottery.

Anyone else in?

IRONMAN South Africa

We want athletes to know that IRONMAN South Africa is NOT sold out. The system temporarily showed sold out due to the number of unpaid entries on the system. Those stale unpaid entries have since been removed and entries are once again open.

500 entries left according to IMSA. I did not expect it to sell so quickly. I have not entered yet as I was planning to enter after the 70.3. I would have entered now, if it wasn't for the cost of going to the 5150 in Germiston in two weeks.

I will watch this closely, as I do not want to miss out again this year.
