Nah, there was some pretty steep climbing. My Garmin recorded 1180m of elevation gain, which over 42km is pretty tough. There was a lot of descents that spiked the average speed.

That said, It was't the toughest race I've ever done. Was easy compared to a race like Fine Breede.

What was the total elevation gain for the 60?

I got 1310m on my Polar RC3GPS,....and 48621m on Strava (just kidding)

Well that is good to know. Maybe I can give it a shot next year.

That is much less than the Lourensford classic 40km coming 1st September :

Depends...did you upload your Garmin info through Strava or GarminConnect? There is an elevation correction enabler on GarminConnect

I've just signed up for the Wine to Whales open - 50km enduro.

When , where !? Is it on the second day at Oak Valley ?

Think I'll do the Lourensford too

NOW I get to read this!

After almost dying on the route yesterday, cramping (never had cramps before), walking almost every uphill in the second half, I finally understand why!

Next time I'll pay attention to the total ascent before entering...
