Have an offroad riding mate getting rid of his xtension xgorge. I've tried researching the brand but it seems to be a somewhat mystery. Wants 4K for it which looks like a give away and the specs are as follows:

Marzocchi triple drop off fork. (I know, I know...)

Manitou swinger 4 way SPV rear shock.

Front wheel is Sun Rims S Type with a WTB Werewolf on.

Back is a DRC DH21 Downhill with Schwalbe Al Mighty rubber.

Armor Brake setup with Hayes rotors.

Truvativ Hussefelt Crankset 1x9 with Sram X7 derailleur and an X0 grip shift.

Xtension stem and unknown alloy riser bar.

True tech post with WTB saddle.

Keen to try this out and use it as an alternative to the usual XC hardtail nonsense as a gap filler till I can get the AM enduro bike on the wishlist later this year. He's thrown in a full face lid as part of the deal too. Dropping it off at the mech in the morrow so he can check the bearings and give it a once over with his experience. If it's good to go, will do some riding this weekend to see how it goes and then pull the trigger.

Anyone who knows this brand and can give me some useful insight to this perhaps??

Here's a pic:

I'm definitely thinking the same way Hairy. It seems like a bargain that I wont lose money on, if it turns out not to work for me. The little bit of info I do get seems to label the bike as an aggressive free-ride bike. Reviews on the zocchi fork are mostly shyte. Tends to get rigid at high speed in constant compression stroke scenarios. (e.g. rock gardens). Replacement pads for armor are believed to be an issue, but aside from that the other bits all have favorable reviews.

Xxtension are a little known brand from the cayman islands ? Or some tax have like that. I have the DH version, bought the frame for a grand, and its awesome. Bullet proof build, not light though. I also had a pair of those forks, just play around with the oil level and viscosity and damping, which can only be changed by opening the fork. But they last forever, 5 years and no leaks. More reliable than boxxers...

Shot Jimmy! The plan is certainly to play on the mountain with this until I have the cash for something like a Genius 710 or similar. Will probably use it on the enduro events cos I'm more interested in having fun than worrying entirely about how efficient at pedaling the bike will be.

Need to replace the armor brakes first up! Will check out for some forks after! Schweeeet!
