Where did you do the 210km?

Longest I have managed is 120km from VG to Breedts and back. But I commute to work every day to get the miles in for Baviaans.

Over the weekend I did 210km, 105km Sat...plus 105km...Sun.

What I do is plan a general route to cradle (was my first time there this weekend) and ride from home.

(live in Randburg)

I fractured my shoulder about 2 months back so am only able to start my long rides over weekends now.

Which tyres would you suggest for the Trans Baviaans/overall?

(will have to replace them before race  )

Wise man, been running Ralphs for nearly 2 years and only had one puncture (touch wood).

200km audax end June will help with training.

A friend of mine is also running your new combo, I am going to check it out....

Did not have any problems with my Vredesteins, just one puncture.

I run race king/xking combo, but the race as full ust. Hate having to worry about a tubeless ready tyre with our rocky conditions.

for baviaans, i will most likely run rkingUST(rear)/xmarkUST(front).

I hate the grip of the rocket ron upfront in loose and gravel. I really wouldnt go that way.

Wow, strange combo, having Xmark front and not liking rocket ron which has a lot more grip, anyway each to their own I guess. Rocket Ron has even more grip than Racing Ralph, where you running proper pressures?

Xmark has nice low rollresitance for the rear but useless grip in front, loosepack on hard surface washouts very easily. mostly bulletproof though.

I'll use Icon rear and 2.35 Racing ralph front, worked well on Pioneer, should be OK.

Does anyone run GEAX?

Had them, hated them. Supposedly bomb proof but had a couple of punctures and its a battle to get them off. Also quite heavy.
