Mankele Avalanche (trail riding

Mr. Nature

Recommended Posts

Awesome enduro mtb trail riding stage race! Consisting of 3 stage X 2 runs of each ( fastest run that counts).

Portage to the start, then down down down. Amazing Mankele trails, sweet single track, flowing bush tunnels, gnarly bridges, boardwalks & drop offs. Don't worry there are chicken runs.

Entry includes tented accommodation for Friday 12 - 14 July, 6 x shuttles to the starts & a lekker chicken Braai Saturday night.

Hmm I may just have to enter as I recently found a big set of brass balls that have given me some skill I did not have before, bike always out rode me but am changing that very quickly.

Can't wait Geoff.

Can we have a show of hands to see which Hubbers are going to be at Mankele for the Avalanche.

Cannot wait for this event!!!

I'm gonna party like a rock star, hit a bunch of single tracks

Wake up late in a tented room

Throw my bike down the mountain, smoke a bunch of lycra pants

Anything to get my mind on dirt.

Find a telephone pole to wrap around my bike,

And party like a rock star.

I'll be there, but not racing. Still recovering after heart surgery. I'm so jealous, the trails are looking awesome and each stage is about 2 km longer ( more flowing single track)!!!!!!

Jeez dude! Heart surgergy? Hectic! Hope you recover soon...

I hope the extra distance doesn't mean extra pedalling?

Does one need a trail bike to do this event, or will a cross country bike be fine?

More specifically I'm thinking:

- 2010 Cannondale Scalpel 1 (full carbon)

- XTR rims
