NO helmet- NO ride

Danger Dassie

Recommended Posts

Having ridden at both NF and Groenies these last 3 weeks I've noticed 4 riders not wearing a lid.

Both these venues make a point of No helmet No ride, what the hell is so hard to understand?

It doesn't matter what your opinion on helmets is!

Maybe it's time to enforce a R500 fine for people riding in these ares without a helmet, plus one times phat PK.

It's especially annoying when at both venues, all one has to do is pull finger and fuggin ask for a loan helmet. In fact Groenies has brain buckets for rent.

t**sers!

We joined a bunch of guys on a road ride going out to Irene and back yesterday and there was a care-free guy in the bunch riding with no helmet, no gloves, no bar tape, on a bike with Campy Bora's and didn't look like he even needed his smaller gears as I certainly didn't see him changing too many gears ! This guy had helluva strong looking legs, but his demeanour said approach with caution, so I didn't see anybody challenge him [he looked like he could ride away from us all, and there were some strong guys in the bunch]. We stopped in Irene for a Coke and clearly he had an attitude when talking to the other cyclists. What a crazy dude ! Anybody know who this guy is ?

Yep that was me in Std Bank kit on the Look. The guy without the helmet was wearing Barlow World kit. I'm sure he's a nice guy but something about him says here comes trouble LOL

i've seen them stop people riding at groenies for not wearing their helmets.

I've heard of it at NF as well, both places it's fairly easy to organise a lid.

Maybe some people have a thicker skull than others.

Small world indeed ... a while after we left you guys to go back to Edenvale my front wheel finally went flat. The damn thing was bugging me for a while ! The other guy riding with me is also a hubber' date=' Laulil, and when we stopped in Modderfontein for a coffee we met up with MichaelH who came across town [in his car, but still using crutches']. I'll look out for you guys next time as we ride those roads often.
