I'm in the same boat.  My 2nd swim should hopefully be on Saturday morning (1st being 5150 bela bela).

Sunday is going to be tough.....definitely not my sub 6 that i got at 70.3 this year

The good thing is that the course is a lot faster than 70.3.

bad things is the lack of training :)  No running for the past 3 weeks....with the longest being 10km.  That 21km is going to be long and painful

The route is described as "hilly" - anyone from the area able to comment?

from I can glean off the site there is +-450 metres of climb over the 90 km's..... having driven the route loads of times intuitively I would say this is incorrect but stand to be corrected by members actually living there and who may have ridden it

I understood that as being 45kms there is 450kms of climbing! Check the athletes sheet again

I took it as 450m total for 90 Km's...

Anybody who has ridden course like to share a Garmin file of it ?

Thanks

I raced last year and did a blitzing bike time for me. It is not hilly. There are two to three hills. The rest is gradual ups and downs. Much easier than riding the Cradle or 94.7.

Bring your big chainring and small cassette.

People better pray the sea calms down before the weekend because this morning it was Huge surf

Swell is predicted to drop heavily over the next couple days. At least it'll be a proper sea swim! (if you dont come out with sand everywhere it doesnt count)

yes predicted to drop by half and it will be needed trust me ( i took pics this morn but dont know how to post them here ) and also north east wind so that will be nice on the home run for bikes.

Yip, this morning it was breaking miles out, waaaay behind normal back line, so some serious swell around. If drops by half, will still be proper.

But have to say, the beachfront area is looking fantastic. Hope you all enjoy it.

PLEASE don't post them! We need to maintain some positiveness leading up to Sunday.
