It sems like we picked the same pre race statistically sound team( or so i thought) that took into account the smaller groups competing for the category jerseys.

We can form a grupetto and chase the leaders.

And my team is making a recovery thanks Greipel the Gorilla. I'm not particularly a fan of the guy, but for the sake of my fantasy league teams I hope he takes many more victories :)

Time will tell if our long term picks come good...... in which case the early leaders would have run out of ammo....... then we will have the last laugh (evil grin)

Now I think that a loading the team with Green jersey chasers might be a good longterm start as it seems that the contenders have to show their hand right from the start.

Hindsight will surely give me more clarity and I would become even smarter about the choiches i should have made.

I see it this way;

- 9 flat stages in total (including the Team TT)

- 10 mountain stages (incl 4 "medium mountain" stages)

- 2 individual TT's

The green jersey chasers were able to hang in the 1st 2 medium mountain stages.... SO, assuming that they can't hang in the 2 medium mountain stages left and contend, the green jersey chasers would have had one more stage to earn points then the GC contenders. IF they can hang in the 2 remaining medium mountain stages, we are poked  ......

IF they can't hang in, then I see a points festival for the guys that chose GC riders......

Also as the tour goes on, there is more chance of some green jersey chasers abandoning.....

So...it's quite evenly poised then for a tight finish.

At the end of this it would be good to work backwards and pick the green jersey contenders / flat stage winners and see how the points would stack up against the top 9 GC riders.

Maybe Gerald can do this analysis for us using last years results

There were a lot of similar picks, but out of 99 entries there isn't a single duplicate.

Only 2 people picked Daryl Impey, probably because he was a lead out man and not a contender for points.

Daryl is the 11th highest scoring rider at the moment.

The Tour is far from over.

Lots of undercover hubber's popping up in this league, names you don't normally see on the forums.
