12 Pages of discussing clothes and everyone except Bob and Ewep missed the point.

Another duck around the issue from Mr Lemmer in his reply once again not answering the question.

People in plain and simple English when you fork out money for something you would like to know what you will get in return for it. This is normally a information that you receive before forking out your money unlike this forced pay up first and then we won't tell you.

So can somebody please just tell us what we are getting for our money? Then you can go ahead and dress in every which way you want to your hearts content and I don't think anyone would give a continental.

Just think we could actually then debate the issue rather than Mr Lemmers clothing, it would make for far more interesting reading.

Officiating

Land access

Communication

UCI affiliation

There was no time today and last night, to answer you, Sorry for delay. Please also note that each sporting federation raises monies in similar manners, and spend it similarly.

Latrinus, a few questions on your answer above:

Land access:  The organisers of races keep on upping their prices, quoting "land access" (more the MTB clan).  Now why am I paying double for this?

Road Races: Just about the same as the above.  The race organisers nail the participants with everything from Metro participation to bloody "outhouses".  What is this money going to do for the "funrider" (not the ELITES)

Track:  Will the okes (read Vets/Masters) going to Worlds, etc be sponsered a bit (not only a partially sponsored set of kit)

MTB/DH: Are you guys going to sponser/help Greg this time around (our only chance at a World Champ in any cycling dicipline) and not only give him a set of kit?

General:

Please redesign the national kit, I think it looks ***!

Where did you buy that cool T-Shirt?!?!?!?!  I want one.  And can I have a cycling shirt like that made??

Lastly, Bob, wake up!!!!  Latrinus is the Chief OPERATING Officer.  He got more done in the last few months than the whole of the CSA the last couple of years!!!!!  Latrinus, keep on chipping at it, the CSA will take shape.

Hey. Is julle forkin stupid.

What you are getting in reply for the few bob you spend on a license is

a) Full license - you have the right to participate in your provinces champs and national champs.

b) Cyclosport you have the right to participate in all the other races a - d category on a seeded basis.

c) Recreational license entitle you to particpate in all a - d cat races on a non seeded basis.

If you have none of the above licenses it will  cost you R 30 Aa race on top of entry fee to race.

You basically pay for the right to enter races in a certain sense.

It is like a license for your car. You pay to use the car on public roads.

If you do the calculations yourself the income from licenses are not such a big pile of money.

En ja, ek val gereeld op my fiets as die Ham and Cheese Pie warm is, so ek is 'n bietjie stupid...

Baas,

See notes next to your q's.

Land access:  I do not know the details, but I am sure that the MTB blokes will answer that. The possibility exists that certain national/provincial-level or championship events need such? Naturally, individual organisers deal with their own access costs. I don't think land access costs have ever made it into the CSA budget for keeps. It probably gets rejected since it suffers a low priority. We'll know soon.

Road Races: Funriders do benefit from the Road budget, but probably directly related to how much they spend on their licenses? Our financial men on the hub could probably try do the math there?

Track:  Track is an expensive sport, with only a few participants, but it is a massive developmental area, or not? Track gets very little budget, methinks.

MTB/DH: A q for Mike B at MTB SA

General:

National kit, I think it looks ***! No comment. CSA needs (inter alia) a communications officer, before that can be addressed, isn't it?

Shirt stolen in Tygervalley, actually!  Yes, we'll make a range of such shirts, using licensing money :)

Lastly. correct, I am not a decisionmaker. It is simple to understand. No-one needs to flame me for above, since no budgets are done, and you could all get a copy when ready. I believe the ship is on course, and we'll all continue to try our best.

You may all write to inf@cyclingsa.com for anything else.

My kroon, thanks for the reply.  For once I got an an answer I can understand!!!

OK, may I take out 3 licenses for a shirt like that???

Popeye and Latrinus, I wasn't trying to gun the Emmer.  I have just become very dispondant (sp?) about the whole licensing issue after the "powers that KNOW" fell silent (as most funriders have).  LW never wrote any more letters to the poor sods he works for, and the mess with team selections, etc etc etc.  And then the Hub friend (or should it be fiend) comes on and we now have a "direct line" to the CSA.
