A beaut. I am from Osnabruck, where they were built, and have been eyeing one ever since... 

Karmann built the Ghia as well as all the VW convertables, from the Beetle through to the Golf 1. The build quality on the convertables were always recognized as much better than what came out of VWs own factory at Wolfsburg. What happened after the Golf 1 I don't know.
