I think one needs to define 'best of both worlds'. Bigger wheels = less rolling resistance

Smaller wheels/frames, etc = less weight

So I'm not sure what one stand to gain by just swapping tyres and having the rest of the bike exactly the same. I cannot see that a good set of wheels (for both) will have much of a weight difference.

I would just stick to the 29er :-)

Stick with the 9er for now get a second bike 650b. Find the 9er is better for long rides, the 650b is more fun on shorter rides likes modders etc..

Not sure if swapping the wheels is great idea.

Firstly, don't compare the geo of the Spark and the Genius, they are aimed at different types of riding, the Spark being the XC/Marathon more racy type of bike and the Genius being the Trail/AM/Enduro(ish) type of bike.

Swapping to smaller wheels wont change the goe of your bike, It will only lower the BB height to a height that the bike was not designed for (think more rock strikes etc.)

If you want quicker cornering, set the "flip" chip to the high position, that will make the head angle steeper and raise the BB (this could make cornering a but more unstable too).
