Hi Hubbers

 

I'm looking to buy a book that will help me put together a good training regime, looking to learn how to make full use of training with a HRM, timing rest and peaks etc...

 

I'm a mountain biker.

 

Could someone make a recommendation please?

Better yet.

Make an appointment with a cycling coach who can do the nessacerry fitness tests and work out your threshold etc and let them work out a training regime. Tell them what races you want to do and they will incorporate that into your training.

Agreed, as good as a book may be it is not personal. A coach will be able to personalize your program, monitor your progress and adjust as needed. Every person is different, and will adapt to training load and intensity differently. A book cannot guide you there.
