Which is better/stronger?

Rapide weight 423gr and uses eyelets but has tubeless lip for seating tire.

Crest weight 355gr but no lip.

Too many variables in the equation to give an answer. I've built a number of 650b and 26in Crests without comback. On a 29er I would take the ZTR Arch over the Crests, which I would not recomend. I have never built on the Rapide rim - they are pretty new in SA but the distributor is solid (important!). WTB also have nice 650b rims. I would base my decision on price and looks.

Anything with a eyelet is better than the Crests... Crests also renowned for their flexing under load and butter-soft Alu!

kind of ashamed to say Ive owned the following:

 

ZTR Olympic (26")

ZTR 355 (29")

ZTR Crest (26")

ZTR Crest (29")

ZTR Alpine (26")

 

Not a day's problem......(yes I am now embarrassed by the list now)

Weight limit on crest is 86 kg and 106kg on Arch - so you more than fine

I weighed 93kg and have a Crest on the Front and Arch rear - now I weigh 88kg (before kit) and still no problems - and I hammer it on the downhills - (because have to make up time for the uphills). I had them done up properly - not by a regular wheel builder.

My theory - flawed or not - is the back takes more of a hammering when it comes to weight etc. Front has the longer travel fork and most of the time is unloaded when hitting biggish things...... Not sure about the turning and flex and all of that - beyond me, but they are still running true.
