Looking at the XCO rankings, some age groups are very well supported and its going to be very crowded...how many guys can ride that double jump line at the same time?

96 in my cat!

I'm rather glad I can do the duathlon thing cos the first few km there is going to be a lot of congestion and dismounting.

I probably should have done more boxing too. Ah well.

Considering that most of the entries are from local riders if there are so many entries per age group at normal XCO events in SA?

On and off ive been following the various age groups over the years at regional and national level and dont recall ever seeing anywhere near as many entries per age group

well you will need a good start then ... the first straight is 400m long, slightly uphill, with Red Face Hill at the end (a short sharp uphill into a left hander)

There may be a bit of a bottle neck here out the start so try be on the outside to ride around the guys on the inside who may get stuck and have to unclip.

Then its a straight shoot down a road and into the first twin track .... this is twin track so should flow ok even on the first lap - HOWEVER - there is a little rock garden in the first trees after 1km from the start that may cause an issue - you want to be through here quickly as from here there is a long single track climb up "Cabbage Tree" to the next fire road.

From here it should spread out - If i were racing id see what the field is like when i get there - but I would potentially run Kims Corner as it might be faster if you can dismount fast - then run up to the next road and jump on again. the "portage" is all of 20m and saves a slow switchback

Do not want to hijack this thread but have a question:

Who is riding in SA colours?

Velly good question?

Presumably the riders choosen to represent SA by CSA...presuming they did select teams?

A mail shot was sent out a while ago to all participants saying that "Although there was no selection criteria for MAsters, all SA masters entrants were encouraged to race in SA federation kit that they could purchase."

Note that the federation kit is different to the Elite kit as far as i know.

This request for shirts had to be in a while back so that they could be made.

Im not sure who ordered - I know i did

When did I become national champ? Nige just yell if you need to pass me on track.

If they run slowest to fastest - you will be chasing me .... and will be last on track .... FEEL THE PRESSURE

I know about that. Just wondering how many riders did order.

I am thinking of riding in mtb baggies/shorts. The weight difference will not matter for me. May need the extra pockets for energy gels for all those climbs....

Im not sure -

But as for the baggies .....
