Done that and the noise is still there. Definately not seat post or saddle.

did the same => not seatpost or rails...first thing I checked...

sounds more like pedal related...

OK...some feedback here...

I was talking shyte earlier on when eliminating MY SEATPOST...i RE-CHECKED IT AND RE- CLEANED IT AND RE- DID EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO IT...

Lo and Behold.... SILENCE!!!

Mine was a dry main pivot (Q20 solved that) and the secondary noise was... believe it or not, the actual cleat on the shoe. I also replaced my Shimano pedals as I thought it was a pedal. Didn't work. Got my "proper" MTB shoes wet and went for a ride in an old pair of MTB shoes and the problem disappeared. Penny dropped and 1 x new set of cleats later, silent as a whistle :D

Worth a try ?

Take off the back wheel, clean and lube the area around the drop-out and try again ? I had a similar creak, not the saddle, not the BB, not the pedals... drove me mad till bike mechanic located it !!

+1...

Common quick release creak!! Do the front as well. You think its the crank, because it's the torque when pudhng hard that causes it. And because it at the frame where quick release tightens it reverberates up through yet frame.

I've had a trance and anthem creak from linkage bolts either seizing or working loose. Symptom was the same, creaked with pedal rotation. Drove me nuts trying to find it.

I have the same bike, model, etc. and unfortunately had the same problem....... After stripping the bike, having suspension bearings replaced, etc, I finally managed to solve it. How..... by not over tightening the rear wheel quick release, but most importantly, cleaning the connection between the rear wheel quick release and the frame and putting some bearing grease so that the connection is not "dry". All of the best!!!

I solved this problem altogether in the end as it happened at various points in time in various places.

Now please dont all swear me at once

Get a hardtail :whistling:

Have you checked that frame carefully? My Ghost had an annoying creak and I did everything from clean and grease the handlebar in the stem to stripping out the pressfit BB (what a pointless design) and taking pedals and the crank apart!

Still it persisted. Then one day I saw a small crack in the chain stay where the come together near the seat tube. You could hardly see it due to the paint colour but could get your nail in there.

OK, Great feedback!! Seems most of your replies point to the quick release...It's about the ONLY place I did not investigate ...

I stripped cleaned / lubed the pivot links...because it "sounds" like the creak originates from there....but as someone said ..the frame acts like a sound amplifier and the creak could be somewhere else and the sound just be routed up the frame...

off the wheels will come...tonite!

I had the same problem on the same bike.

Sent it back to bike shop countless times, they kept replacing bits, would be fine for one ride, then back to clicking. Eventually they sent it back to Giant. They replaced the shocks and fork and it has been fine since.

It was weird because the clicking/creack sound definietly came from the bottom on each pedal rotation.
