I am a one man army that tried to take on the Eden Classic. It was my first time organizing the event and it did not go as planned. I am very sorry that i could not meet the standards of the Previous organizers. Today was not a good day for me. I still have a lot to learn. And today i learnt allot. Thanx for the opportunity.

Next time this race. With its awsum trails an great routs. WILL be up to scratch.

For all of those that came out today to support me and my event. I thank you

For all of you who got lost. Or missed the markers. I appologize.

This will Never hapend again.

Onwards and upwards

Hi,

George, Takes a big man to admit.

Was not there today as Last time I did it I entered the 70km event , but decided afterwards that the route was to technical for me, and also only did 45km after I rode up and down looking for route markers.

A couple of us including mountainbikers decided that day that route to technically difficult for most to promote cycling.

If I read previos posts , the same is said so not all can be down to Organising of the event.

I think sometimes Organisers forget how easy it is to get lost if you do not know the route especially if you are tired and concentration not the best anymore.

Good luck with your next event.

Thanks George,

I wish you all the best for your other events currently running and everything you are still planning.

I think this event in particular have been plagued by 'bad luck' and other issues in the past as well but I feel stuff like route marking should be the first point of concern and is something that can be 'controlled'. As mentioned in my earlier post the placing of the water points on a route should surely make a bit more sense than on Saturday.

All the best.

No worries George. .

Some advice. Maybe use different colour chalk to mark the different routes.

Hey Garf, how did you go on the run and how did you find the technical difficulty on the mtb?

Groete

Dis 'n baie goeie punt.

Hey Garf, how did you go on the run and how did you find the technical difficulty on the mtb?

Ran the 10km in 49 minutes. PB for me so that was great.

35km was tough. I have done 100km MTB rides that was way easier. I think my time of 3 hours puts it into perspective.

But I loved it. These character building races prepares one well for Ironman.

Maybe next time they should give maps to everyone. Then at least people can revert to something if they are unsure....
