Hello.

Does anyone know of mountain bike trails in Edenvale? I heard that there are some bike park in or close to the Edenvale area.

Would anyone mind to confirm this?

Thank you in advance.

Yes I saw the website. I'm a Front-End Web Developer. Maybe I can help them out on their website :D

Super place to cycle, so go and enjoy.

Seems they have a new website? needs a bit of work ;)

Huddlepark at the top of linksfield road is coming soon. Went to check it out yesterday - just riding around the areas that are not golf course - very excited about it - it should be good. Right now there's no trails as such so you make your own and you have to deal with a lot of hard burned grass and pine cones - which i learned that if you hit a big one head on, pine cone wins  but considering the other facilities they have there I think it's going to be a good one - will wait and see if you have to take up a membership or if you can just pay to ride.

Will have to see what they do with the people walking their dogs though. The rule is they should be on leads but yesterday as we were heading back to the parking, I noticed a couple walking with 5 dogs, 2 were large bull mastiff types and I noticed the one noticing me and then it came running at me - my partner told me just keep going, fortunately it stopped about 2m from me and then just barked and ran off.

but great to have so many options close by. The Vale Rocks!!!!

That's good news. The more the better for us. There is also Thaba Trails and Rietvlei close by. 15 mins down the drag towards Alberton.

Whoop whoop!

I moved to Edenvale this weekend and want to actually start using my mountain bike.

Thank you! I will check it out.

Edenglen cycling club have a group of MTBers who ride every weekend. PM me your email address i'll ask the chairman to add you to the weekly email of where & when we ride. You can also join their bookface page to check out whats happening.

BTW, it's a free association club so you don't have to be a member to ride with us or join the bookface page.

Non-members normally pay for members coffee after every ride

Hurlyvale Primary School have organized an MTB race there on 10 October. 10, 20 and 40 km. Come try out the trails and support a local school. Entries on Cycle Events website.

So is there no 6 hour this year? The hailstorm made it interesting last year...

Yip, no 6-hour and hopefully no golf balls falling from the sky!
