That looks like a killer bike - post pics as it builds up.

Will do. Unfortunately frame will only arrive in december, as I'm getting someone to bring it over for me.

But I want it now!!!!! then I can also sell my current bike, and improve my cashflow situation!

Nicko, take a look at the santa cruz nomad as well, its a slightly longer travel which makes initial peddling a little harder as the relaxed geometry is a challenge to get used to but when you are its awesome, at 160mm travel it makes for a much more "stupid" capable ride though.personally i think its pure pornography. oh available in alu or carbon for about the same price which is cool.http://www.santacruz...en/nomad-carbon

Thanks, but unfortunately my cash supply is limited. If I had the money I'd get a Bronson, no questions about it. However I'm getting the Blur LT frame for 900$, and that frame is about twice the price :(

Looked at the Sukuma, it looks good but I prefer the Santa Cruz hey... My build gonna end up around 25k according to my calcs :/ If the rand can stop falling

Tell me about it, CRC becoming very expensive quickly, haha. But dont see it stopping until we are at R20 a pound:/

I know it's a bad situation, good for LBC's though, more business for them. I'm bringing in wheels and a groupset from the UK, and the pound has gone from like 15.70 to 16.40 in probably a week or two... Sucks!!!

Shimano DX pedals, good decision right???

Yep, I love mine - a tad heavy but so easy to cip in and out of. Bear in mind they do feel different depending on the shoe. I find mine more grippy with the 5.10s vs Spaz XC shoes ie less prone to unclipping inadvertently, which stand to reason as the soles are flat and grippier.

  • 2 weeks later...

Aaah crap! Sorry to hear. What happened?

Yeah I'm pretty unhappy about it all... but hey it's life, **** happens.

Frame I was supposed to be getting got sold out :( Unfortunately my friend in the states never listened to me when I asked them to buy it asap for me, as it will get sold out :( Anyway, since then I've been sitting with a set of wheels and a fork that works with just about no frames...

There was a Blur LTc for sale locally here, which I nearly bought, but costs were getting out of control...

I decided I'm still relatively new to riding, and couldn't justify spend close to 35k on bike, unless I'm competing for top positions in enduro races, and we have maybe a few a year here in SA. ... So I'd rather spend the money on travelling probably...

Anyway I've since found a fairly nice bike for sale, which I'm going to see next week, and is going to be a heck of a lot cheaper. Won't be as good as the Blur LT, but ito value for money I think it's a fantastic deal. And it will be a far better Trail/AM bike than my Specialized Epic...

Yeah so that's basically the story of my life.... Haha

Appreciate everyone's help in this thread, and apologize that it's all been in vain.... See you all on the trails...

Sh!te man, that is very sad to hear. Stuff like that always happens to me. I must agree with you that 35K on your first AM bike is a lot to spend! You will never regret investing some time and money into travelling, that is a very clever outlook.

I wish you all the best with the scoping for a bike.....BTW what bike are you going to have a look at?
