It depends on the spec level that you are wanting. If you are looking at a cost effective brand that still has a good reputation (in terms of quality, after sales service etc), your best best is the Silverback Space.

 

A Coimbra in PE had 105 equipped Focus Cayos for R14 500. Not sure if it was a special or a normal price. This would also be a brilliant option. They also had a Focus Izalco with Ultegra for R23 500.

My 2 cents would go toward a Felt F4... see if you can snag a 2013 bike on special.

Thanks guys, some good ideas up in here. Brand loyalty means nothing to me but if I really had to start being awkward I might add that I hate red bikes, weigh 85 kg and want at least a 60cm frame. I do have some options on the table, but I was hoping for some external opinions, so far you're delivering.

I would say if you running around the 85kg mark and want a 60cm frame, Cannondale would be at the top of my list.

The CAAD 10 frame is probably lighter than most mid range carbon frames. Its a brilliant frame at a great price.

I hear you about wanting Carbon, but IMO the CAAD 10 for your weight and height would be the bomb.

I weigh 90 odd kg's and am 6foot 2". Havent had a days hassle with my 14 year old CAAD 3.

7k Sounds low. At the time I was looking, I was quoted 8.5k for a CAAD8... That was 4 years ago.

if I had to go down this road again I would definitely consider the CAAD10 - there's a 2014 model for around R50k......lovely.

Thinking of just breaking the bank and getting a super six frameset and building it up.
