You mean there's hope for us pronkers

I still do a pronk(like a kalahari springbok) every now and again...small obstacles that is quickly on you like around a blind bend requires a pronk...nothing wrong.

Bunnyhop is still prefered, you can clear higher and further...good skill for the quiver.

Yep that is a pronk...got nothing to do with being clipped in or not...

Ah okay.

Pronking with flats is part of the learning process.

I hope that on your skills courses you teach how to repair pinch flats...

that hop was slightly short and touched the log

Also part of the learning process is touching the top of the log with both wheels as Wessel did there.

Yea, good idea, you will get a feel for distance / speed / timing required

That log is just under 300mm high I reckon. You expect someone to clear it on their fifth ever offroad ride?

Why not?

hahaha!

Jus kidding... I didn't say I expected it cleared. The effort displayed is very commendable indeed. I was simply saying that touching your front and back wheel on an obstacle one is jumping/hopping can be a bad thing.

Depends if you want to pump the back of the obstacle for extra speed...

It is the first method I show riders how to get over obstacles. Better than nailing your Chainring into the log
