Go speak to a good Specialized dealer, like Cycle Funatic in Durbanville, or Cycles Direct in Sunningdale. Also find out when Specialized have their next demo day. I find I prefer the Spez rear suspension over the Giant Maestro, but you might think different. Best to try them out. Nice bikes But those big wheels on the stumpy had a few moments where I wasn't comfortable and threw my confidence. I also felt the need for more than 130mm travel. I think the Stumpjumper will probably climb slightly better than the Trance 2, but the Trance will be more fun in the other direction...
