Hey boys, anyone know who knocked down the two small jumps on the downhill section between Emmarentia and Linden Ave, and why?

The trail nazi. There's a granny that lives along there who makes it her personal mission (or more likely her gardener's) to remove any unsightly fun lumps that pop up.

We have a suspicion.

One afternoon I was chatting to the Spruit Fairy as he was building a new hip jump on the Emmarentia dam embankment.

While there, an old lady (resident of that street) walked over and started asking him what he thinks he's doing. When he explained that it was an alternative line so that those who want to blitz down that section don't collide with cyclists, runners and dog walkers coming up. She said that was unacceptable and that he had compromised the structural intecgrity of the dam wall. (His path was about 40cm wide, definitely not going to bring down the dam wall).

2 days later the new hip jump was destroyed. She probably sent her gardener over to do the dirty work.

We think she is likely responsible for the destruction of the 2 other jumps in question.

I also noticed that this weekend. The odd thing is that lump that was removed was insitu soil and was never brought in... Pretty odd that it was removed TBH.

it was bringing joy to MTBers, so she had to remove it, in situ or not!

Is the soil still there? Can we rebuild?

Nope... that natural grass mound that happened to have a path on it (and a little shaping) was cut right out... like a veruca!

We'd appreciate it if, once we've rebuilt the jump, all users could maintain a look of dreary solemnity so as not to alert her fun senses.

Well if the team is going to start work on that section next, i'd be happy to bring a spade, cause now it's just a boring straight line. Also got a mate about to dig a pool, so we could make it fun.

I vote for this, just because I dont have to pedal much down there to pick up speed to get some air :)

(I am the laziest when it comes to pedalling)
