There's been zip, zero, nada, zilch, so far.. almost sad as it really added to the pre-season hype. But still day 1 of this year, so early days! ;)

anyways, CRC announced that jnr mike jones, previously racing for team FMD/Intense, has joined the two wheeled billboard/team for 2014.

The more interesting (IMHO) news is that Jacey Shumilak is now the head mechanic for team CRC/nukeproof.

My inner bias is suggesting Jacey, along with short chainstays, was the cause(s) for Arongwint's rubbish season. lulz.

anyway, stoked that Jacey and Hill are teaming up again.

On the local rider scene Johan Potgieter is going full privateer this year.

He was up at Tokai yesterday on the worlds first Afrikaans downhill bike. The GT Fourie.

He was offered a renewal on his RRP Ghost deal but he's going to go it alone this year with help from Omnico (GT, Bell Helmets) He'll be living the privateer life pitting with the Bulls DH team and contesting the European World Cups and IXS races.

He said the team structure he was on last year was just too restrictive for him with no input into race schedule and equipment choice.

He is on the 2014 GT Fury with Fox Front & Rear. Zee running gear and with Bell Helmets.

If anyone has a bit of spare cash to throw at a South African world cup rider Pottie is your man. You will not find a more well liked guy on the scene and he'll be a great ambassador for any brand.

Stefan Garlicke is continuing his relationship with Investec with support from Omnico. He'll be on a Solid this year. He was going to go with Trek SA but Solid offered him a bike and they make a 650b specific frame which he loves so the choice was easy.

He's going to be based in Morzine for the Summer. He reckons it's the best place to ride and train in Europe (Shameless plug)

oh sod, completely missed the part in the CRC missive where Matt Simmonds has bounced to another team. Saracen maybe?

Interesting...

I've always rated Matt as one of the smoothest riders on the circuit, the kid's got serious style and BMT to go with it.

Eliot Jackson returns to World Cup racing!

He is on board Pivot bikes along with Bernard Kerr Micayla Gatto. Seems that self promo vid of Gatto's paid off nicely!

Pinksauce

Awesome. So they must have sorted his asthma out. He's got the best riding style. Dare I say even better than Brendog?

To me, Brendog looks super loose on a bike, but the style kinda suits a bicycle. Jackson seems to pull off stuff that makes it look like his riding his motocross whip.

Hard to say which I like more, but definitely enjoyable to watch.

Fatso Gatto finally gets her booty back by a label. I hope it romps home ftw.

oh and i say fatso with all affection.. checking that thing in that jumpsuit.. makes me rejoice to this

Cam Zink Joins YT Industries Factory Freeride Team

If you have an opportunity to ride YT bikes why wouldn't you? Sickest bikes in the world and the only mountain bike brand that is run by a bunch of crazy misfits compared to the rest of the industry. - Cam Zink

http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p4pb10513427/p4pb10513427.jpgAfter Andreu and Yannick this is a huge step for us, and I was excited when we managed to get Cam signed up to the team. He just fits in with YT; the way he sees mountain biking and his style are like the missing pieces of the puzzle. Cam will not just help us to develop the brand, he will also be a very important part of the development of new bikes in the future. Cam knows more about bikes, geometry and kinematics than most people would guess. - Florian Lehmann, Marketing Manager, YT Industries
