You don't actually need two cars. both boats on the roof, both bikes on the rack. Just requires seconds to be on the ball.

 

If it's windy, the lagoon paddle is better on a ski anyway. you just run the risk of getting caught in weed if it's around.

 

Shebeen, I never actually said you need a second car. Maybe the term 'second' is confusing. At ski and K1 races we always refer to a second as the person that drives the car for you. For example, most K1 races, and downwind races on surfskis are from one point to another. So the second is the person (usually wife or GF) that drops you off at the start, and then picks you up at the finish again.

We were in GB for the weekend and at the start, watching. I had sympathy for everybody! And yesterday we woke to... an absolute peach of a windless morning.

Shebeen, I never actually said you need a second car. Maybe the term 'second' is confusing. At ski and K1 races we always refer to a second as the person that drives the car for you. Looks like that's the case, pity as last year was an epic battle for the win. no results out yet(promised by end of week?!)

The bad thing is that it was only blowing in GB proper. In Strand, and from about 1km down the road to Strand it was windless.

 

If it blows in GB, it usually blows at Rooi-Els also.
