Can anyone tell me if it is necessary to do a qualifying swim before entering and swimming the Midmar mile??

You'll start in the last batch without any previous swims or qualifying races.

I have more than 30 trips across the bay in the midmar format.

If you can float and swim, 20 lengths in a 25m pool you can do it. your first one will be the toughest as you need to get used to the traffic.

even better, why not join us CHOC Cows and raise some funds for CHOC whilst swimming. :w00t: .we have a few groups entered in the 2nd race on Saturday the 8th...(also need to be sure there are many swimmers around who can save me from drowning...i swim like a brick)
