Grey Hubs Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 What a FIRST race for me! mud and more MUD. But still managed to enjoy the "60km" actually 45km ride. Any one catch my classic over the handle bars, back flip dismount into the water??? That must have been funny to see!!! Rookie in orbit - the water was DEEP in some parts. Warren911 1
CMK Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 the food stand at the finishing line was the best. Not entirely overpriced like normal events and even had everything still that was on the menu in stock right till the last sole came in (me)

I rode the 20km to the start ready to do the 30km but when i saw the route i decided to skip it, could not chance something happening during the race and then been stuck there. People near the sharp end of the results that shouldn't be there.... +1 ....also considering avg speeds in those condtions, as well as comparing finishing positions relative to both SAS and Kia rankings. But what can you do, marshalling and race admin was a bit muddy.......

But what can you do, marshalling and race admin was a bit muddy....... Average is up because they calculated using 60km when the race was only ~47km I reckon. Sadly there is no way to stop short cutting without placing timing mats in the middle of nowhere...I just wish people would realize that they shouldn't cross the line if they've shortcutted - rather stop before the line and hand in your number. You're officially a DNF.
LongDonkey Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Hopefully the SAS results will be so loaded (guess 1st place will have a weighting of 40) that i do not think anyone will benefit from a good result in this race. Some of those that finished quite high up would embarrass themselves and cause problems if they actually did benefit from the "shortcuts"
