hey,

so theres this 1mm warp on a part of the front disc brake caused by a stripped screw and months of use... making it a musical disc brake rotor.

i'm not going to buy a new rotor because of a little warp but how the hell do i get it nice and plat again?

a hammer & vice has not helped, i've tried.

spin the wheel and make a note of where the bend in the rotor is i mark with a whiteboard marker, then use a disc straightening tool if you have one( am guessing from the post you dont) or a shifting spanner to bend in the opposite direction.

before going that route though try using your hands and thumbs to push where the bend is( it takes surprisingly little force to bend the rotor so be careful) its unlikely you will get it perfect but you should be able to get it straight enough not to hear the rubbing anymore.

One thing to note is that you'll probably never get it perfect again. Especially if you've already taken a Hammer and Vice to it already. The best you'll get to do is to minimize the rub. Just get a cheap new rotor.
