how is it looking for tomorrow with the rain? Are you going to give the other a run for their money?

rain is full up for past month.. route looking really tricky. going to be a tough race.. apparently dry tomorrow which will make it very sticky and way more hard. ill give it everything sabie one of the biggest races for me! if someone else wins i can promise you he will have to work for it.. ill be giving it everything!!

anyone doing sabie. some pointers that might be usefull use full tubeless tyres. very rough out there. no l ightweight tyres. carry lots of nutrition and bring warm clothes in your back pocket.. ontop of the mountain can be 15 degreees cooler!! good luck to all!!

Max - I havent read this whole thread so if this has been asked I am sorry but I need to ask you a question that I think is on alot of peoples minds;

Why the sudden departure from your old team after Hanco just came onboard as your team mate to go concentrate on XC as apposed to Marathon racing in order to get to compete at the Olympics? It seems rather odd when against the top XC riders like James, Phil, Brendon etc you more than half a lap off at the end? Surely you must of known this when deciding and all of them also do Marathons - James is the SA Marathon Champion and why didnt your team support this move? In my eyes you the best Marathon racer and most consistent in SA and have been for a while.

This isnt an attack of any nature just a question many people ask.

Thanks

two cross country races last year... not sure which one of them i was half a lap behind?

but the olympics the pinnacle of the sport and any athlete that says he doesnt want to reach the pinnacle of the sport is not to ambitious.

been 26 i feel this is the last few years i got a crack at the olympics, after that you can ride marathon till you 40. you cant get to olympics or common wealth at that age sadly.. most guys that ride marathon in sa are well into the 30s.
