I thought vanmarcke was gonna taste glory today as the best sprinter in the lead group.

Fabian went early enough to just hang in there. And he took it by quite a margin.

Great race! All 4 leaders were on tired legs at the end. Cancellara would have gone sooner if he could I think. He had the best jump to the line of the 4, played his hand the best.

Van Avermaet was possibly the strongest rider in the race, but he used a lot of reserves because Vandenbergh were almost no help to him. Big up to him for still getting 2nd.

The Belgian came so close.

He had so many matches to burn.

It’s never easy to comment on a disappointing result and there aren’t many words to say right now... did not perform as I wanted in a key moment of the race. When Cancellara and Vanmarcke attacked on the Oude Kwaremont I wasn’t able to push hard enough to follow them. This is not a good result, of course, but there’s always something to learn.”

Big loser on the day was Quick-step. I dont know if they did not have legs, got caught out of position, or if Terpstra waited for/was stuck behind Boonen on the Kwaremont. Terpstra looked the stronger of the two.

It was interesting how Stijn van den Bergh got boxed in preceding the final sprint. I wonder if that was intentionally done by the other 3 because he was such a wheelsucker.

Agree - seemed like they held all the cards and totally stuffed it up. Cancellara did a fantastic job and showed his class again.

Sagan needed more support. Felt sorry for van Amaert, close again.

Can't wait for next week!

Don't think so.

Getting boxed in has a lot to do with poor positioning.

Poor positioning has a lot to do with tired legs and tired mind.
