What is a good, quickish ride in howick or cedara?

Hi

Heading to Pmb tomorrow morning after getting back from ct tonight. Staying in howick. Driving so that I can take a bike with. Would anyone recommend a route that I could safely do alone on fri morning and still be in Pmb for a meeting at 9am? Never ridden in the area before (at least not since I was a kid).

Karkloof dude. Hit the falls loop. Scenic, challenging and about 15km of sick singletrack and manicured trails.

Now move that meeting to 16:00 and go nuts doing everything at Karkloof.

Cedara not safe alone... come back with a group of friends and do that one. Cascades, Grace College, Howick are alternatives... And Karkloof of course. Pity about the rain!

Really pisses me off that I have too agree with you know...But it had been safe until these recent opportunist thieves..hopefully we will catch them and life will be back to normal

Many thanks. Super excited now, although not sure about the state of my bike or car after squeezing a 29'er into the back seat of an A4, in the dark. Ha

Sorry. Dumbass question but I can't find the info on the Karkloof MTB website. Is there a facility to pay to use the trail early in the morning (first light) or to pay after the ride? What is the procedure if no facility before the ride? Any answers would be gratefully received.

It's KZN, they're super relaxed!

On occasion that I have arrived there first, I go ride, then pay when I get back to the car.

Hey. Some venue. Awesome trails. I used to run around those forests as a kid so it was a bit like being young again. Definitely need to plan a weekend down there soon. Incredibly well marked trails. Saw a jackal and surprised a huge bush pig and her babies.
