Shuttling is cheating....

This discussion is about assisting Johan scout nice trails and lines for enduro riding. The shuttle is to help us save time and energy in this endeavour. We might end up going up 10 times. I don't think that would be possible without a shuttle.

This response is great. But yes lets not lose sight of the goal. This is more of a recce. We are far from having free and open lines. However one is fully open (Rinkhals drop-off), another is mostly there, another two i rode a while back on 29softy and they have huge potential but may be overgrown and a bit nasty after this weather. LIne 5 is a concept.

It seems we will have at least one vehicle on saturday, possibly two. If you've got a good bakkie and can get someone to drive, bring it. The road is pretty good up to the saddle of the mountain, but there will no doubt be shorter ride/walk -ups to apexes either side.

Shuttling on a race day would be cheating... but, shuttling on reccie / test runs = more ride time = more fun

What about another category for those who want to compete on the ups too?(Idea compliments Mr. Tread)

At the moment weather for tomorrow seems to be mostly cloudy, when will we know if it's all systems go?

Ok we have a couple guys confirmed for 9am tomorrow (sat). I have spoken to the landowners and they are prepared for some scrambling/reccing around their mountain. Seems like we wont have a ride-up from northside but southside is sorted. I have also prepared some maps showing the 5 lines i suggest as well as other info to locate you up there. we will just have to wing the logistics a bit to make this work. Either way, you will be able to ride!

Hope the weather holds. If its dumping in the morning I suggest a re-think,

Great stuff! I assume we meet at the the main entrance as per coordinates on the site? (I've only been there once, so just checking..)

I will be out there around 8am with a group of about 8 - 10 of us, we normally talk crap for about an hour so 9am is cool ,

Should we bring tools to build trails?

I think tools are premature for this session. But hey you may like to sculpt one good piece whilst others ramble around. ??

I will try arrange a spade or two to lay in the bakkie and we can decide as we go, the soil should be nice and moise for building a little jump/berm or two.

This sounds interesting, I am keen to join.

Is there a limit to how many people can join or can we just show up tomorrow morning?

Just pull in, I'm sure we wont gather too many from this thread.
