Bonus Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 (edited) My MTB was stolen from our garage this afternoon. We were in the house at the time We live in a complex with a gate and an electric fence. Seems like the thief had an exit code or a remote and I'm guessing he knew exactly which house to go to. Unfortunately we suspect the guy in the house that overlooks our garage may have seen me cleaning the bikes or putting them away and may have arranged to help someone steal it - or at least point them in the right direction. There's no security at the gate (small complex) and no cctv. The bike is an Epic M4 - but looks newer because it was resprayed a couple of years ago. The fact that it has been resprayed will make it very easy for me to identify if I manage to find it. Edited March 29, 2014 by Bonus

I'll visit my local bikes shops on Monday - they've all worked on her at some time or another over the past few years. Maybe I'll get lucky.

Sorry about your bike My sister in CPT was telling me a colleague of hers had his bikes stolen like that. Apparently the guys walk around with gadgets to override your garage door remote. She now have a sliding barrel bolt on the inside of her garage door for added security and they disconnect the power to the garage door at night. In JHB I don't clean my bike in full view of passers by.
