I regreased my front hub this morning, and cleaned up the cone and cups. I have adjusted the hub just right so that there is no side play in the wheel when i try put pressure on the wheel to the left or right.

My question is that, is it normal if when i squeeze the brakes tight the wheel moves slightly forward and back ? If i lift the bike in the air, and squeeze the brakes and move the wheel forward and back, all seems good. But when i put the bike on the ground and squeeze the brakes, i feel the wheel slightly move forward and backwards. But there is absolutely no side play which is good. Thanks for the help :)

Ps: my headset is perfect.

Is the brake caliper tight? There could be a little play in the way the pads hold the disc.

What condition were the internals of the hub?

Conditiom was really good.

I believe it could be the oads moving slightly up and down when locked to the rotor...

Its the disc slightly slipping on the pads check your pads or give them a slight sanding with water paper

When sanding pads, place sanding paper on flat surface and run the pads in a figure 8 across paper until gloss dissapears and pad surface smoothed out
