Droewors Cyclist Posted April 25, 2014 Share Hello cyclists The University of Cape Town is conducting research into carbohydrate and fat metabolism during cycling in athletes on high fat diets (or the Noakes diet) versus the more standard cycling diet (high carb). If you are intersted in participating in research, learning some interesting things about how your body works and doing a peak power output test this may be for you. Specifically we are looking for athletes that meet the following criteria:Males between the ages of 30 and 44;Well trained and able to ride at a relatively high intensity for two hours;Eat a diet that is HIGH in carbohydrate and LOW in fat;Able to get to the Sports Science Institute in Newlands, Cape Town on 5 occasions for the testing. For more details you can contact me at wbschr002@myuct.ac.za or check out: http://essm.uct.ac.za/glucose-production-during-exercise-in-athletes-on-a-very-low-or-high-carbohydrate-diet/ Thanks,Chris

Dicky DQ Posted April 25, 2014 Share Sorry I am over the age bracket, but I consume serious high carbs in the form of Charles Glass. Might be an interesting measurement. Ho well..... PS I am in CTN and can get to the centre. Ysterperd
