seat droppers 101

Check out the Specialized Command post which is available in various sizes and uses a standard gear cable for ease of maintenance and durability. I prefer it to the Reverb because it doesn't need to be bled and it pops up faster.

Rumour has it that the command post return speed can be slowed down when serviced. Honestly. That fast return speed is terrible. But different strokes for different folks.

not sure on seat droppers. i know they useful but when i see the cost my wallet drops.

shall i buy the giant dropper for 2500 or spend the extra 500 and get a trusted dropper like the reverb.

im not about having the best but i am about being practical.

does anyone use the giant or should i just not drink beer this month and get the reverb?

NO NO NO !!! Those foul words are NOT tolerated here! :whistling:

On a side note:

I use the KS Supernatural with 125mm drop via cable & it's also not a maintenance free setup, but it's smooth & IMO very reliable.

KS does make a couple more options, but bang for buck I'd say Supernatural (in-line) or Dropzone (setback)

NOT DISSING RS. I LOVE their products!

The only thing that puts me off about the RS (or hydro systems as opposed to cables) is that it might happen in the event of a bad crash (as was the case with a mate of mine) that the hose pinches & renders the dropper useless as opposed to a cable operarated version (like KS) which can still be activated on the trail & easily replaced. (at minimal cost & effort)

He used a cable operated KS dropper, but the cable (top) was totally stuffed after the crash & the dropper couldn't be used as it should, but could still be operated via the short red actuation lever.

My issue with KS is that their cable droppers' actuation is in the firing line of mud, but I'm busy working on a 'mudguard' for those.

Will post in THE DROPPER thread once I'm happy with the guard.

Awesome, helpful & friendly bunch of guys!

Great riders with real world experience with their products!
