I do not agree with you mate. Deon & his team @ Cyclefunatics are simply the best !

Dunno, send my Brain fork in for a service, took 2 weeks to get back to me with a price ( after I started phoning them everyday after about a week ) - the estimate was for R1550 and they quoted me either R5500 to replace my carbon crown with a aluminium one or +-R10 000 for the carbon crown. I said f#ck that, asked for my fork back. Once I received my fork they have replaced my sunken thread with another one that did not fit my steerer and told me I can use the fork as a wall decoration. I bought another fork from CWC for R6800 as I trusted that this fork was in fact f#cked according to CycleFunatics and the service center in Stellenbosch.

But I then heard of other ppl that have the same experiences with the Specialized Carbon forks and that it could in fact be fixed for a lot less. I took it to Attitude Cycles, Marc just tightened the one nut want what do you know, it's 100% again. If that did not work he could have swapped the two chambers around or he could mill the one chambers thread down, all fixes costing less than R100. I will never ever trust CycleFunatics or Speicalized service center with any of my Bikes / Parks again.

It seems reasonably clear from posts that there is no such thing as a best LBS.

Most provide good service most of the time, but none are flawless and occassional hiccups will occur.

A good relationship with an LBS will however ensure that hiccups are sorted out quickly.

This. Even the best mechanic will get it wrong occasionally, the trick is to find one that will admit it and sort it out.

Southern Southern Subs - Trail and Tar.

Those would be my go to places, depending on where you are and where you're going to be.

No other places will do down here in the Cape.

that's like the north!
